Reinvent our government
As a longtime activist, I believe in a transparent, responsive government that empowers citizens to play an active role in their communities. Fortunately, we live in an age in which technology enables transparency and responsiveness like never before. Unfortunately, government has been slow at best and reticent at worst to put this technology to work for the American people.
We live in a wired world, but we have yet to experience the benefits of a truly wired government. In Congress, I will use technology in a number of ways to open the corridors of power to the people of the 14th District – from posting my schedule and voting record online, to holding virtual meetings and Web-chats with constituents, to using social networking tools to address pressing issues in the 14th District.
